Victory in San Diego and 3-Peat!

 Jimmy Shane drove the U1 Miss HomeStreet to victory to capture the Bill Muncey Cup at San Diego Bayfair sponsored by HomeStreet Bank. The Miss HomeStreet qualified 2nd and collected 3rd, 1st and 2nd place finishes in preliminary heats to earn a spot in the winner-take-all final.  Jimmy took the U1 into turn one first from lane 2 and never looked back to claim the Bill Muncey Cup.  The team secured the 2016 H1 Unlimited National Championship in Heat 3A.  The championship is the 7th for the team and marks the second 3-peat taking the title in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Almost Perfect in Detroit

Jimmy Shane piloted the U1 Miss HomeStreet to the top qualifying spot with a 159.906 m.p.h. 2-lap average speed.  The Miss HomeStreet collected 4 heat victories and headed into the winner-take-all APBA Gold Cup final heat hoping to complete a perfect weekend.  J. Michael Kelly in U5 made a bold move to claim lane 1 prior to the start of the race and that was all he needed to take the win.  Miss HomeStreet finished second and heads into final race of the season, San Diego Bayfair (September 16 - 18), with a 584 point lead in the season high points.

Positives and negatives were a part of the Washington swing of the 2016 H1 Unlimited season for the U-1 Miss HomeStreet.  The biggest positive being Jimmy Shane and the U-1 head back east with the lead in season high points. July 29 - 31:  Miss HomeStreet qualified 3rd at 158.066 m.p.h. and captured 3 preliminary heat wins at the HAPO Columbia Cup in Tri-Cities, WA and won the final heat on the water after being struck by the U-16 driven by Jean Theoret.  Theoret was initially penalized for the incident until a controversial reversal of the call by H1 Unlimited officials took the victory

'Victory in front of the hometown crowd had eluded Jimmy Shane as driver of the U1 HomeStreet Bank sponsored Miss Madison until Sunday. A break in the rain midday provided the opportunity to run the preliminary heat races.  Fans who stayed on the Ohio river bank through a torrential rain, were treated to an exciting winner-take-all final heat. Jimmy had to settle in to lane 2 between the U5 Graham Trucking piloted by J. Madison Regatta Update

The HomeStreet Bank sponsorship era of U1 Miss Madison Racing hydroplane is off to a great start at the 2016 Main Source Bank Madison Regatta presented by Belle Terra Casino Resort.  Driver Jimmy Shane took the top spot in qualifying with a fastest lap of 145.877 mph on Friday.  The APBA Gold Cup accompanied the crew in Friday nights parade and is making appearances on the riverfront for the citizen owners of the U1 to see and enjoy. The U1 Miss Madison crew led by Crew Chief Dan Hoover has been busy prepping the race boat in new sponsor HomeStreetBank colors for MainSource Bank Madison Regatta presented by Belterra Casino Resort, July 1-3, 2016, the first race on the H1 Unlimited 2016 season. Driver Jimmy Shane had an opportunity to shake down the newly painted blue, black and white U1 at a test session held June 10 on the Columbia River in Tri-Cities, WA.  The boat is currently en route home from Washington state and will arrive in plenty of time to be ready for Regatta.
