Guntersville Successful/Next Up Madison Regatta

The test session held on Guntersville Lake June 17, 2917 was deemed successful all around. U1 Miss HomeStreet and U27 Wiggins Racing unlimited hydroplanes along with the vintage U-55 Gale replica were received with true southern hospitality. Last week, HomeStreet Bank announced their sponsorship of the former Hydroplanes, Inc. “Miss Budweiser” racing facilities in the Greater Seattle, Washington area.   That sponsorship agreement allows Miss Madison, Inc. to acquire the Tukwila race shop and Lake Stevens engine test cell.  Those facilities are now under the management of Charlie Grooms of the “Miss Madison” team.  Former “Miss Budweiser” Crew Chief Mark Smith has been retained as the shop manager of the Tukwila facility. Miss HomeStreet Readies for Test Sessions

Crew Chief Dan Hoover is leading preparations of the U-1 Miss HomeStreet for the 2 test sessions scheduled prior to the 2017 H1 Unlimited season.  The boat and crew will be in Tri-Cities, WA Friday, June 2 for testing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT.  Other unlimited hydroplanes expected to run at the test session are the U-9, U-12, U-21, 440 Bucket List Racing and the vintage 1973 Miss Pay'n'Pak. The Miss HomeStreet is also expected to take to the water in the test session scheduled for June 17 on Lake Guntersville, in Guntersville, Alabama.  The session is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT

Miss HomeStreet driver Jimmy Shane and the HomeStreet sponsored Miss Madison Racing Team took home the top honors at the H1 Unlimited 2016 Awards Banquet, the National Championship trophies for both the pilot and the team. This was Shane’s 4th straight Bill Muncey National High Point Championship driver trophy. On December 7, 2016, Miss Madison Inc. received notification from APBA (American Power Boat Association) National Commissioner, Charles D. Strang, that our August appeal and request for a review of the final heat and race results of the 2016 HAPO Columbia Cup was completed and that the HomeStreet Bank Unlimited Hydroplane has been declared the winner of the race. Victory in San Diego and 3-Peat!

 Jimmy Shane drove the U1 Miss HomeStreet to victory to capture the Bill Muncey Cup at San Diego Bayfair sponsored by HomeStreet Bank. The Miss HomeStreet qualified 2nd and collected 3rd, 1st and 2nd place finishes in preliminary heats to earn a spot in the winner-take-all final.  Jimmy took the U1 into turn one first from lane 2 and never looked back to claim the Bill Muncey Cup.  The team secured the 2016 H1 Unlimited National Championship in Heat 3A.  The championship is the 7th for the team and marks the second 3-peat taking the title in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
