The Miss HomeStreet qualified 2nd and collected 3rd, 1st and 2nd place finishes in preliminary heats to earn a spot in the winner-take-all final. Jimmy took the U1 into turn one first from lane 2 and never looked back to claim the Bill Muncey Cup. The team secured the 2016 H1 Unlimited National Championship in Heat 3A. The championship is the 7th for the team and marks the second 3-peat taking the title in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Jimmy Shane piloted the U1 Miss HomeStreet to the top qualifying spot with a 159.906 m.p.h. 2-lap average speed. The Miss HomeStreet collected 4 heat victories and headed into the winner-take-all APBA Gold Cup final heat hoping to complete a perfect weekend. J. Michael Kelly in U5 made a bold move to claim lane 1 prior to the start of the race and that was all he needed to take the win. Miss HomeStreet finished second and heads into final race of the season, San Diego Bayfair (September 16 - 18), with a 584 point lead in the season high points.
