Jimmy Shane to Pilot Oberto/Miss Madison

The Miss Madison Racing Team is pleased to announce Jimmy Shane, the 2013 H1 Unlimited Driver Champion, will be piloting the Oberto Unlimited hydroplane in 2014.  Shane raced his first full season in the Unlimited series in 2012.  He has quickly become the sport’s rising star with 6 race wins, including back-to-back U.I.M. Celebrating Our Champion's Retirement

The citizen owners of Miss Madison and fans from near and far joined with past and present crew members at the Boneyard Grill last Friday night to celebrate their driver, Steve David. After a career that spanned 25 years  including 13 years in the cockpit of the Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison, Steve announced prior to the final race of the 2013 season in San Diego, CA, that he would retire from unlimited hydroplane racing. The American Power Boat Association has announced the decision on the appeal on the penalty assessed to the Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison during the final heat of the 2013 APBA Gold Cup.  APBA National Commissioner, Charles D. Strang, wrote, "Per the applicable rules, the Referee's ruling in the 2013 APBA Gold Cup race must stand and I am compelled to deny the appeal.  It is denied."  H1 rules include a provision that a referee's decision is final and not subject to appeal unless a suspension is involved. H1 Unlimited announced that the 2013 Awards Banquet & Annual Meetings scheduled for November 8 - 9, 2013 at the Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana have been postponed.  The events may be rescheduled in January.

Miss M to Visit Suffolk, Virginia

The Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison will be on the road next week to Suffolk, Virginia for an appearance at the 36th Annual Suffolk Peanut Fest.  The unlimited hydroplane will be on display at the booth of our associate sponsor, Lipton Tea.  Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison crew members will accompany the boat on display.  There will be autograph cards specific to the Peanut Fest and team souvenirs will be available for purchase.
