When the Miss HomeStreet hydroplane rounded the last corner of the Albert Lee Appliances Cup at Seattle’s Seafair, driver Jimmy Shane could see the finish line and the end to the drought of Seattle victories for himself and the Madison, Indiana based team. Saturday Update: Albert Lee Cup @ Seafair

The U1 Miss HomeStreet driven by Jimmy Shane took a 4th and a 1st place in Saturday's preliminary heat races.  Jimmy led on the water in Heat 1B, but was penalized 1 minute for not maintaining 80 m.p.h. while scoring up for the heat.  Miss HomeStreet bounced back with a convincing flag to flag win from lane 2 in Heat 2B. The U1 Miss HomeStreet was top qualifier at 148.975 m.p.h. going into Saturday's racing. The 3rd round of preliminary heats is scheduled to begin at noon Sunday with the winner-take-all final heat scheduled for 4:45 p.m. PDT (subject to change).

Madison Regatta Exhibition

U1 Miss HomeStreet took 3 match race wins and was leading the final race into the 1st turn of the last lap when the infamous 1st turn hole caught the boat.  It slowed the U1 enough to give the U9 the advantage for the Indiana Governor's Cup at the 2017 MainSource Bank Madison Regatta. Four H1 Unlimited hydroplanes competed in 3 rounds of match races and all 4 boats competed in the final heat.  The event was an exhibition and H1 season points were not awarded to the competing teams.

Madison Regatta - Friday Update

The U1 Miss HomeStreet was the first unlimited hydroplane on the Bill Cantrell Memorial Race Course on the Ohio River.  Jimmy Shane took the boat out for 2 test runs as the crew dialed the boat in for action this weekend at the Madison Regatta.  In addition to the racing on the water, the annual Regatta parade is scheduled for Friday night and fireworks over the river Saturday night.
