The test session held on Guntersville Lake June 17, 2917 was deemed successful all around. U1 Miss HomeStreet and U27 Wiggins Racing unlimited hydroplanes along with the vintage U-55 Gale replica were received with true southern hospitality. Last week, HomeStreet Bank announced their sponsorship of the former Hydroplanes, Inc. “Miss Budweiser” racing facilities in the Greater Seattle, Washington area.   That sponsorship agreement allows Miss Madison, Inc. to acquire the Tukwila race shop and Lake Stevens engine test cell.  Those facilities are now under the management of Charlie Grooms of the “Miss Madison” team.  Former “Miss Budweiser” Crew Chief Mark Smith has been retained as the shop manager of the Tukwila facility. Miss HomeStreet Readies for Test Sessions

Crew Chief Dan Hoover is leading preparations of the U-1 Miss HomeStreet for the 2 test sessions scheduled prior to the 2017 H1 Unlimited season.  The boat and crew will be in Tri-Cities, WA Friday, June 2 for testing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT.  Other unlimited hydroplanes expected to run at the test session are the U-9, U-12, U-21, 440 Bucket List Racing and the vintage 1973 Miss Pay'n'Pak. Miss HomeStreet driver Jimmy Shane and the HomeStreet sponsored Miss Madison Racing Team took home the top honors at the H1 Unlimited 2016 Awards Banquet, the National Championship trophies for both the pilot and the team.  Jimmy Shane drove the U1 Miss HomeStreet to victory to capture the Bill Muncey Cup at San Diego Bayfair sponsored by HomeStreet Bank. Jimmy Shane piloted the U1 Miss HomeStreet to the top qualifying spot with a 159.906 m.p.h. 2-lap average speed.  The Miss HomeStreet collected 4 heat victories and headed into the winner-take-all APBA Gold Cup final heat hoping to complete a perfect weekend.  J. Michael Kelly in U5 made a bold move to claim lane 1 prior to the start of the race and that was all he needed to take the win.  Miss HomeStreet finished second and heads into final race of the season, San Diego Bayfair (September 16 - 18), with a 584 point lead in the season high points.

Positives and negatives were a part of the Washington swing of the 2016 H1 Unlimited season for the U-1 Miss HomeStreet.  The biggest positive being Jimmy Shane and the U-1 head back east with the lead in season high points. July 29 - 31:  Miss HomeStreet qualified 3rd at 158.066 m.p.h. and captured 3 preliminary heat wins at the HAPO Columbia Cup in Tri-Cities, WA and won the final heat on the water after being struck by the U-16 driven by Jean Theoret.  Theoret was initially penalized for the incident until a controversial reversal of the call by H1 Unlimited officials took the victory

'Victory in front of the hometown crowd had eluded Jimmy Shane as driver of the U1 HomeStreet Bank sponsored Miss Madison until Sunday. A break in the rain midday provided the opportunity to run the preliminary heat races.  Fans who stayed on the Ohio river bank through a torrential rain, were treated to an exciting winner-take-all final heat. Jimmy had to settle in to lane 2 between the U5 Graham Trucking piloted by J.
